Gene Sperling (Coordinator in the White House for the American Rescue Plan) – $172K

Gene Sperling is the only person to be a National Economic Advisor under two administrations. He served as the director of the National Economic Council and Assistant to the President under the presidency of Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. Under Obama’s administration, he annually earned $172K.

Outside of politics, Sperling is known for establishing the Center for Universal Education at the Brookings Institution in 2002. Many also know him as an author; he penned the best-selling publication “Economic Dignity” and “Judicial Right Declaration and Entrenched Discrimination.” His contribution to the White House continued as Joe Biden appointed him to oversee the budget of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.
