Carol Kirkwood – BBC Breakfast – Weather presenter – £150,000
The BBC recruited Kirkwood in London after she graduated from Napier College of Commerce and Technology in Edinburgh with a BA in commerce. After leaving the BBC, she was employed as a recruitment consultant and then as a training consultant for a Cheshire management consultancy.
She appeared with Sacha Baron Cohen on Windsor TV, later called Wire TV, in 1992. When The Weather Channel closed down in 1996, Kirkwood went on to receive training at the Met Office under the guidance of the BBC, before joining BBC News as a weather presenter in April 1998.
