Skelton is a certified tap dance teacher and has said if she weren’t a broadcaster, she would be a teacher. Her brother Gavin is a footballer and player-manager.

Her first television appearance was in 2008 on “Blue Peter,” while she replaced Zoe Salmon. Afterwards, Skelton became a presenter of live FA Women’s Super League football matches for BT Sport, as well as continuing her BBC reporting duties.
