The musician and gay-rights activist’s transition began by coming out as a lesbian and later transgender person. Chaz even wrote the book Transition: The Story of How I Became a Man, a detailed account of his life and struggle. Bono’s mom, the living legend herself, Cher, has been open about struggling to accept the change but admitted that she has eventually come around.
