Reporting in the field can be challenging, especially when people are trying to barge into the shot. This was the case for KEYT 13’s John Palminteri when he was reporting in Santa Barbara one day. A young boy decided to try and sneak into the shot, but Palminteri wasn’t having any of it. He quickly shooed the boy away and returned to the cue with an air of calmness.
The incident was caught on camera and became viral, with some viewers disapproving of Palminteri’s actions. However, his tough guy status was proven then, and he could successfully continue his report. It shows that being strong and decisive is vital when field reporting.
