Is This Even News-worthy?

Journalists are responsible for providing the public with relevant and important news. Yet, they are occasionally forced to cover stories unrelated to hard news or serious topics. These stories, often called “fluff” or “puff” pieces, usually revolve around celebrities and their mundane activities.

John Brown of “Good Morning Orlando” is one example of a journalist who refused to report on a story about Kylie Jenner naming her pet rabbit Bruce. He believed the story was not newsworthy and should not be taking up valuable time. Though his co-anchor disagreed, Brown remained steadfast and did not allow the story to be reported.
