A Piece Of History. Do You Remember These Amazing Women?

Polly Matzinger

Polly Matzinger’s story is an inspiration to many women around the world. The internationally renowned scientist was tagged as ‘most likely to not succeed’ in her senior-class yearbook. Looks like the description couldn’t be further from the truth when ‘Discover’ magazine named her as one of the 50 Most Important Women in Science in 2002!

Before her big break as a successful scientist, Matzinger worked countless jobs, such as a bass player, a dog trainer, a cocktail waitress, and even as a bunny. She is now an immunologist and was the one who propounded the ‘Danger model theory’ of the immune system.
