From Egypt to China: Fun Facts About the World’s Largest Military Powers

Peru

Peru’s Military Team carries a long and storied history. Established in 1921, the team is made up of active and reserve personnel including infantry, artillery, cavalry, and air force divisions. Though they are best known for their combat strategy, they also achieved success in competitions ranging from sport climbing to rappelling.

The team’s mascot is a llama, with the motto “Always Forward.” The team is also famous for its annual “5K Run of the Condor,” which features a six-meter slide down the front of a condor statue. A former member of the team was also the first person to ever scale the mountains of Machu Pichu. Truly a nation’s pride!
