The military team in Taiwan is an interesting unit of brave individuals. They are the only specialized unit among Taiwan’s Armed Forces with the specific mission to fulfill the country’s aim of reunification with China.
On a lighter note, they compose songs for themselves such as “Gathering Together Heart and Soul,” a veritable anthem for them. They complement it with a mascot called ‘Chiang Long,’ based on a legendary Chinese dragon, which is the inspiration for their emblem. When they do parades, they invite their family to march with them and as a fun twist, their youngsters sometimes provide high-pitched musical accompaniment with instruments like small flutes and triangles.
