Meet Pippin, Audrey’s Pet Fawn
Most of us have cats or dogs as pets, but Audrey’s was far more unusual. When a fawn named Pippin appeared on set for the 1959 film Green Mansions, the animal trainer asked her to take him home so he could get to know her.
The baby deer won Audrey over. After the movie wrapped up, Audrey decided to adopt Pippin, whom she nicknamed Ip. She and the fawn grew so fond of each other that they became inseparable. He followed her wherever she went, even to the grocery store.
