Barbara Knox is a British actress best known for her role as Rita Sullivan in the long-running British soap opera, “Coronation Street.” Over the years, her character has endured many changes and hardships, including being married three times. The actress has been entertaining audiences since the ’60s. It was in 1962 that Carl Paulsen asked her to appear in “The Boyfriend,” which marked her first professional stage debut.
She has since become a household name and is a beloved figure in the history of “Coronation Street.” In 2010, Knox was honored with a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE).
