It’s okay if you have trouble recognizing Kate McGregor. Unlike many on this list, she didn’t devote a large portion of her life to her acting career. But McGregor’s career, though brief, was equally remarkable. She made her debut as ‘Emily Kirk’ on “Emmerdale” in 1999 and only said goodbye to the role in 2008.
McGregor’s on-screen persona was a misfit who had a couple of ill-fated romantic affairs. But life doesn’t mirror art in her case. And even though she prefers to keep her family life under tight wraps, she’s been living very comfortably since stepping away from the acting world.
