From 100 Words for Wind to Safe Tap Water–Surprising Facts You Didn’t Know About Iceland

Big On Work-Life Balance

Iceland has made headlines for its groundbreaking four-day workweek trial, which took place between 2015 and 2019. As one of the first nations to implement this innovative approach, Iceland conducted the world’s largest trial, testing it in various work environments, from hospitals to preschools and offices.

The results were impressive, revealing that the reduced workweek led to happier, healthier, and more productive workers. However, during the frigid winter months, many Icelanders take on additional jobs to stay active and stave off seasonal depression.
